Each day there are many opportunities for learning. Morning Circle is a time for the children greet the new day, say hello to each other, sing songs and say rhymes, talk about friendship, share stories, plan for open choice time, and learn about special activities for the day ahead. Developing social skills, practicing communication and memory recall, exploring music making, practicing listening, making choices and taking turns are all important skills the children are learning at Morning Circle. Afternoon activities also provide a myriad of learning opportunities. A baking project for example, allows children to learn where food comes from, practice counting and measuring, develop hand-eye coordination, work together as a team, explore texture and colors, and try new foods.

Children are supported in developing healthy conflict resolution skills. Teachers utilize the High/Scope method, which focuses on stopping hurtful behaviors, acknowledging the feelings of children involved in a conflict, and empowering them to practice creative problem solving skills.
